MDS

Something of the history of MDS and how it has developed over the years

And the people behind MDS.

Back in March 2003, Master Phil and morgan_MP were involved in running the BFE (Bristol Fetish Emporium) of whom Master Phil had been one of the instigators when it first started up in 2000.

Due to a heavy work load they were on the point of retiring from the BFE (now SWAMP ), when they were approached by the owner of an adult club in Weston Super Mare, asking advice on how to run an event with a fetish/BDSM flavour. 

And so MDS (Maison de Sade) was born in May 2003.

   At first a tri-yearly event, then a bi annual event, it stayed in Weston until May 2008 when the venue exchanged hands. An interim venue was found in Club O in Bristol, where a new name EDS was used, Club O is also where Master Phil and morgan_MP had their collaring, but they continued looking for a venue aimed at the people who enjoyed the original ambient feeling of MDS. 

 Then there was a phone call. It turned out to be the new owners of Vamps asking us if we would like to return, it did not take much thinking about and consequently we returned to Vamps/Players in Weston Super Mare, however, due to an unfortunante incident (nothing to do with MDS!!) we were left without a home, luckily for October and New Years Eve a local club owner stepped, however, we did not feel that the venue added to MDS. 

 Then the original venue owners were out shopping and spied our stall and stopped to have a chat, and to offer there new venue for MDS!!! The layout is similar to Vamps,that is two large rooms, but thats where the similarity ends, there is a large play area and a large chill/social area, a changing room and brand new toilets. In the chill/social area there is a small stage where we will be holding the demos etc, workshops will be in the upper end of the new dungeon, curtained off from the main area so as not to interfere with the ambiance of play.
